Just 4% of the UK population are Blood Donors, claiming lack of time and convince as reasons not to donate. How can we use their time more effectively to drive Donation?
‘Blood Class’ utilises commuters’ travel time by placing blood donation carriages on long-haul Virgin Train services. The carriage would provide commuters with first class service including, reclining donation seats, food and drink to boost sugar levels after donation, and onboard nurses and sterilisation facilities for a safe and hygienic experience. With a standard donation taking just 10 minutes, this is an unnoticeable fraction of time from a long-haul journey, with the impact to increase donations and transport blood around the country.
